What do you find most rewarding about your job as a miner?
The friends and relationships made.
What are some of the challenges you face regularly in your work, and how do you address them?
Always have to worry about one pin man always complain so just keep to coal run moving and less headache I’ll take over pinning there cut just so we can get it done and go home. Also always be away if your top and ribs looking for pins to spot and always make sure nothing is going to blow out.
Are there any particular skills, qualifications or advice that are essential for someone interested in becoming a miner?
Just need to work very well In a team. Be able to take criticism, and willing to learn.
How do you see the future of mining evolving, and what opportunities or challenges do you anticipate?
The future of mining is hard to say because it’s up and down all the time. And the hop is challenging everyday especially when you risk your life everyday just have to stay aware and safe and come out the same way you go in everyday. Also I never tell my family goodbye I always say see you maters
What are your favorite things to do outside of work?
I love to travel and work on the farm. I love days with the family and alone time with my wife.
