This week's safety share is on Fall Protection.
I heard a statistic this morning in our morning meeting that the number one citation for OSHA is fall protection, so I did a little digging, and it turns out that it has been the number 1 citation for at least the last 6 years.
Now I know a lot of you folks are under MSHA regulations, but I have worked on both OSHA mining projects and MSHA mining projects and when it comes to fall protection the same rule applies... it's better to have it and not need it... than to need it and not have it!!!
The key things to remember is to inspect it, wear it properly, and make sure you are tied off to a proper anchor point. I believe we have all heard way too many horror stories when it comes to this subject.
