Miner Monday - Bright C.

What type of Miner are you? How long have you been mining and where are you currently mining?
Underground Miner. 15 years, NFC Africa Zambia.

What led you to a mining career?
I always wanted to be a miner because my late dad was a miner and I also wanted to contribute the growth of our country economy as a Zambian citizen.

What advice would you give a miner just starting out?
My advice to new miners is to avoid day dreaming when are on duty working. Safety is number one.

How do you stay alert and keep safety top of mind?
I always concentrate on my work and do it right the first time.

More about your mining journey:
I started mining in 2008 as a blasting assistant, one later year later  I got a blasting certificate . I was appointed as blaster in charge in 2009, from there I was also trained as a jumbo operator, operating sandvik and epiroc machines in development and long hole drilling.

Fun Fact:
Primary blasting is being controlled by the blasting schedule, while secondary blasting is not and has a short re entry period.
