What type of miner and how long have you been mining?
I'm a hard rock miner and have been mining for 12 years.
I am currently employed by Harper mining working at the Young Mine in East Tennessee.
What are your favorite things to do outside of work?
Outside of work I really enjoy the Dad life. Teaching my boys what it means to be a good husband and even a better man and watching them learn and progress brings me great joy!
What advice would you give a miner just starting out?
The best advice I could give someone starting out in the mining industry would be to keep your mouth shut and your ears open. Learn from the more experienced hands and annoy them with questions daily.
How do you stay alert & keep safety to of mind?
I keep alert and safe everyday by leaving everything at the portal/collar. I begin to clear my mind of all distractions outside of work so that by the time I get to my work area I am solely focused on everything going on around me and centered on the task at hand.
